Book Release "Birth of a Theorem: A Mathematical Adventure"

The LEFFEST will host the release of Cédric Villani’s book, Birth
of a Theorem: A Mathematical Adventure. This work follows two years during
which the French mathematician developed the work that earned him the Fields
Medal, one of the most important Mathematics awards.
The release will include a conversation with Villani, Jorge Buescu – mathematician, professor at the University of Lisbon and one of the book’s translators – and Carlos Fiolhais – physicist, professor at the University of Coimbra and director of Gradiva’s collection that Villani’s book is part of: “Fora de Colecção”.
