Episode of Comment vont les enfants / How are the kids. The title is the same of Michel Delahaye’s article in Cahiers du Cinéma of June 1966, where he writes about The Carabineers, among other things.
A woman reads a text to a boy dealing with insurrection, revolt, riot and rage. Outside, in a setting recalling Beirut - a wasteland and gutted houses, men fight each other but it is not possible to understand why and against whom they fight. The children play football while the bullets whistle. A fighter, keeping apart for a moment inside the carcass of a car, starts to write a sentence on the back of some postcards representing Liberty Leading the People.
