Forced out of their apartment due to dangerous works on a neighboring building, Emad and Rana move into a new flat in the center of Tehran. An incident linked to the previous tenant will dramatically change the young couple’s life - a sudden eruption of violence will create an atmosphere of simmering tension between husband and wife.

Asghar Farhadi

Director, screenwriter and producer, he was born in Iran in 1972. His filmography includes works such as Darbareye Elly (2009), A Separation (2011), The Past (2013), The Salesman (2016) or Everybody Knows (2018). He won two Oscars in the category of Best Foreign Film, joining the limited group of directors who have won twice in this category. His films present a contemporary Iran, exploring themes such as the human condition, family conflicts and divergences between genders, social classes and religious groups.
