This comedic masterpiece finds the iconic Little Tramp employed at a state-of-the-art factory where the inescapable machinery completely overwhelms him, and where various mishaps keep getting him sent to prison. In between his various jail stints, he meets and befriends an orphan girl. Both together and apart, they try to contend with the difficulties of modern life, with the Tramp working as a waiter and eventually a performer.

Born in 1889, in London, Charlie Chaplin is considered one of the most important figures in the history of the film industry. He had been a productive and creative filmmaker for about 75 years before he died in 1977. Chaplin was a comic actor, filmmaker, and composer who rose to fame in the silent era. He is mostly famous for his screen persona "the tramp". Chaplin went on to become a director, making films such as City Lights and Modern Times, and co-founded the United Artists Corporation.
