In Psychogenic Fugue, the actor John Malkovich is portrayed on David Lynch’s most iconic characters’ skin. In Sandro Miller’s words, the film develops around the concept of “dissociative dysfunction, in which a person frees himself/herself from his/her identity to become someone else, a new life”. Establishing a parallelism between the making of the actor, the adherence of a new identity and the concept of escape as the moment in which the memory annuls itself and the identity is released.
