In Goldstein’s film about the father, the son reflects on his father’s past as a jew and a communist who spent his life working for the German Democratic Republic. Under this light, Goldstein examines himself and our present through a multi-layered montage of interviews with his father, family photographs and images of Berlin, reflecting on controversial aspects of that man's life.
