Dmitry Mamuliya is a Georgian film director and scriptwriter, born in 1969 in Tbilisi. He first graduated in Philosophy and then completed postgraduate studies in Film directing at the advanced course for scriptwriters and film directors. Mamuliya has taught at the Tbilisi State University, the Studio of Individual Directing in Moscow and the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin. He wrote numerous literary works and essays, which have been published in magazines like Iskusstvo Kino, Séance, Text Only, Mitin Journal and others. He is the founder and artistic director of the Moscow School of New Cinema.
