Among the various profiles and performances of some of the greatest musicians of our time which Bruno Monsaingeon has recorded over the years, one can highlight his portraits of pianist and composer Piotr Anderszewski, winner of several prestigious awards. In this short film, Monsaingeon’s admiring camera captures the Polish musician playing the works of emblematic German composer Robert Schumann.

Bruno Monsaingeon is a French musician, filmmaker and writer who has,
aside from his career as a violinist, dedicated the last thirty years of his life filming the profiles and performances of some of the biggest musicians of our time: Yehudi Menuhin, Glenn Gould, Sviatoslav Richter, David Oïstrakh, Piotr Anderszewski and Grigory Sokolov, amongst many others. Monsaingeon is also the author of the book Mademoiselle, a report comprising a series of interviews with Nadia Boulanger, composer, maestro and teacher of many of the most important composers and musicians of the 20th Century.
