Frank Morris (Clint Eastwood), a criminal with a history of prison breaks, is sent to serve a life sentence at Alcatraz, America’s most infamously brutal and inescapable maximum security prison. Don Siegel

Donald Siegel was an American director and producer, born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1912. Throughout his career Siegel directed many action-packed films with tightly constructed narratives. He is best known for his many collaborations with the actor Clint Eastwood. Their most famous works together include classic films like Coogan’s Bluff (1968), Dirty Harry (1971) and Escape From Alcatraz (1979).
