Pirandello died and he didn't want two things: neither a funeral or tributes. But it ends up having three funerals. This film tells this story, two decades after Pirandello died, and how the ashes are transferred to his homeland, according to his wishes and the wishes of his family. This transference is marked by several surreal events - some of them based in the work by the artist himself.

Director
Paolo Taviani

Born in San Miniato, Italy, in 1931. The Taviani brothers, Paolo and Vittorio, have worked together since 1964, as screenwriters and directors, both in fiction and documentaries. They received the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival with the film Padre Padrone, in 1977; and the Grand Jury Prize in 1982, with La Notte di San Lorenzo. In 1986, they won the Golden Lion in Venice. Rainbow-A Private Affair (2017) was the last film they made together. Now, Paolo returns to directing alone, three years after the death of his brother in 2018, with the film Leonora addio.
