Guest of the Symposium "Resistances"

Mehdi Belhaj Kacem is France’s greatest political philosopher of his generation.

Philosopher, writer and actor, Belhaj Kacem wrote 3 novels in the 90s: Cancer, 1993, and Vies et morts d’Irène Lepic. His autodidactic interest in philosophy and community engagement led him to publish a well-respected body of work. His work is concerned with challenging the nihilistic consequences of the situationist critique of spectacle through the notion of “game”. His role in Wild Innocence (Philippe Garrel, 2001) earned him a nomination for the Prix Michel Simon Acteurs à l'Écran for Best Actor.
