Omar Barghouti is a Palestinian human
rights defender and co-founder of the nonviolent movement BDS - Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions.
Palestinian-led, the movement fights for Palestinian rights through boycott, divestment and sanctions to Israel. Barghouti was co-recipient of the 2017 Gandhi Peace Award. He is the author of BDS: The Global Struggle for Palestinian Rights (2011) and his commentaries have featured in several important TV and print publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian, BBC, among others.
