Acácio Pires is an environmental activist and member of the association Zero - Associação Terrestre Sustentável. He was a member of Quercus - National Association for Nature Conservation, and currently serves as a spokesperson for the ZERO association in climate actions and manifestos, actively supporting, more recently, the Jobs for Climate campaign and its social plan for a fair energy transition. He is also a member of Plataforma Portela + Montijo Não!, which fights against the expansion of the airport capacity at Humberto Delgado airport in Lisbon towards the air base in Montijo.
