In Mercês, at the historic centre of Lisbon, we can find the Lisbon Academy of Sciences, founded in 1779, one of the oldest national scientific institutions in continuous existence, which has one of the most important heritage libraries in the country. 

The imposing and picturesque Academy’s noble salon will be the stage for the international symposium of LEFFEST 2023.
